While you would read all the good advice on Negotiation, starting from "try to get a Win-Win deal", I want to be blunt about a few techniques, their effectiveness in the real world and share what has worked for me.
So, here are 5 things, including why I feel "Win-Win" deal-making is purely academic and doesn't work in real-life negotiation.
Win Win scenario is a scenario where one person makes the other one compromise in order to win.
Secondly, I find many buyers surrender while handling Single Vendor Negotiation or Negotiating with Monopoly Suppliers.Another one is when Buyers the mistake of being too humble and give up on easy wins in the spirit of collaboration.
While I am all for it but timing is the key. Giving up and awarding easy wins (on minor points) to sellers during the early part of the negotiation is counterproductive and naive!So, I have compiled 5 points, which are purely my opinion. You may disagree with all of them 5, but I continue to apply these in my daily negotiations!
