In summary
#01 - Avoid PowerPoint presentations.
Your teams are spending too much time on Powerpoint visualizations. You need decisions and not Artbook. You can make decisions based on a summary document in word.Learn from Amazon.
#02 - Avoid Emails.
This is so dated now! Sending emails doesn't get work done. Penalize the ones who are creating a culture of sending back-and-forth emails or waiting for a response for weeks after sending emails! Use SlackEmails should be rather repositories of your decisions made.
#03 - Hyperautomation.
Before you dazzle your team with another dashboard or another "AI" platform, direct your funds to Automate your admin tasks. Automate or Outsource all admin tasks. Digitization doesn't always result in automation.
Ask your team to separate the two.-eSourcing involves a lot of admin work- Spend analysis involves a lot of admin work- Most Contract Management solutions are purely digital repositories with reminders- Most Supplier Management platforms are digital forms with workflows and notifications- Master Data Management is 70% Manual activity but with a digital UI
#04 - Meaningful Productivity.
Similar to the point mentioned above, invest in meaningful admin tools.- Auto meeting Schedulers like Calendly- Whiteboards for Brainstorming like Google Jamboard- Meeting notes takerI stopped here, but I also want you to make a culture to reduce the number of meetings and the number of stakeholders in the meetings. Try to follow the 3x4x5 rule:- Less than 3 meetings of 30 mins- 4 days a week for meetings- Less than 5 stakeholders per meeting (applies to internal meetings that are online)
